Bears are carnivoran mammals of the family Ursidae. They are classified as caniforms, or doglike carnivorans. • The bear family includes the most massive extant terrestrial members of the order Carnivora. • The polar bear is considered to be the largest extant species, with adult males weighing 350–700 kg (772–1,543 lb) and measuring 2.4–3 meters (7 ft 10 in–9 ft 10 in) in total length. • Before the last ice age, giant bears used to roam the earth. In this video there is a direct head to head comparison between the largest extant (still in existence) bear which is the polar bear and prehistoric giant bears including: The cave bear, the otter bear, the tyrant polar bear, the north american short faced bear and of course the largest mammalian land carnivore, the south american short faced bear with the scientific name: Arctotherium angustidens • ► SUBSCRIBE Hit the bell: https://www.youtube.com/fivethings201... • ► Facebook:   / fivethings2018   • ► Twitter:   / fivethings2018   • ► Blog: https://fivethings2018.blogspot.com/ • Music Credits: • https://freesound.org/people/Airwolf8... • Credits: Jay Man - In Light Of Darkness •    / ourmusicbox
