Sawing Walnut on the WoodMizer

This video is on sawing Black Walnut timber on my Wood-Mizer LT35. The video also shows how I use my Bobcat Skid Loader to take logs from the yard to my sawmill landing area. The logs that I sawed are older Timber that I harvested a few years ago. I also show one log that was given to me by a local tree Arborist. That log would have ended up in the landfill. This video is a good example of how you can take a log that appears to be trash and open it up into some nice lumber. One of the clips gives a great example on how some timber has stress/tension build up with in the log. I point that out during the video via text. • This video was filmed in one day during a short sawing session on the Wood-Mizer LT35. • After processing on the sawmill all the timber was placed on sticker in a covered setting for drying. I air dry all my lumber before finalizing in a Kiln. This process takes longer that conventional methods but makes for a better product i believe. • I was also able on this video to use my Iphone to get some close up footage of the blade going into the timber at full velocity.
