In this video I show you how to make a rustic loveseat yard bench. This is a bench that's a little bit smaller than the standard size bench, but it seats two people perfectly. The lumber that I use for this is basically pallet wood and recycled wood, so it's nothing special about the wood itself. It's not meant to be a fancy bench. It's meant to be useful and to be left outside and weathered and to look like it belongs in the setting. Now this bench is just simply glued and screwed. I use pocket holes where necessary and toenails as well to hold things together tightly. It will be a solid bench because there is a a center support section in the seat and the legs are 2x4 construction with a plenty of construction screws which are meant to be outside for like decking and that type of thing so the bench should last a lifetime. I enjoyed making this bench. I made one a few years ago full size with armrests and a center section for your drinks and I wanted to do something a little bit different using this similar construction that I used on the larger bench and I think this bench turned out really nice and it'll be a perfect addition to our yard to sit down and take a breather when doing yard work or just to sit out and have a peaceful moment and watch the squirrels and listen to the birds and the deer that that appear periodically in our backyard.
