The Rockets swept the season series 3-0. • Domantas Sabonis had 25 points, 15 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals 2 blocked shots, and 9 turnovers in the loss despite recording his 46th consecutive double-double. De’Aaron Fox added 18 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal in 33 minutes. • Fox had 16 points in the first half but only 2 points in the third and zero in the final frame where he is known to do a lot of offensive damage. Only three other Kings players had 1 turnover each. • The Rockets did not allow the Kings to touch the paint and passed it off to an open shooter. With multiple bodies and hands everywhere in the 16-foot wide area, the Rockets forced the Kings to hold on to the ball much longer before they decided to pass to the player on the perimeter. • “One of the things we talked to our guys about – ‘(the Rockets) do a great job when that ball hits the paint – whether it’s from the pick-and-roll or drive,’” Kings coach Mike Brown said. “We got too deep and turned it over, or we just didn’t spray the ball. We told them before the game that this is going to happen and before tonight, overall in the NBA, we do a really good job of spraying the ball.” • The Kings only made 6 of 32 shots in 3-point territory (18%). The Rockets led by as many as 17 points in the second half after snatching the lead from the Kings, who never got closer than 5 points in the fourth quarter. • • Fred VanVleet led the Rockets with 22 points, 4 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 steals in 38 minutes. He was carried off in a wheelchair and it was later reported that he would have a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) scan on his right knee and ankle. • Sengun had 14 points 6 rebounds, 2 assists, and two steals in 29 minutes for the Rockets, who are in 11th place in the NBA Western Conference.
