Woodlots play a critical role in wildfire risk reduction because of their close proximity to communities. Of the 840 woodlot licences in BC, 80 percent are located in the wildland urban interface. By managing stand density and fuel loading in these forests, licensees can address wildfire risk issues in this province, one woodlot at a time.
