How to Divide Bamboo to get more. Bamboo propagation in pots. • Some may think I am crazy for wanting more bamboo but I do love my many pots filled with the lush tropical growth. I have the pots full of bamboo on my back deck and in my garden. • I don't know what kind of bamboo this as it was given to my by a gardening friend. I keep my bamboo in large pots to prevent it from spreading so no need to warn me how bamboo can become invasive. • When I want more pots of bamboo this is how I divide it and pot them up. • Why would I want more? • Because they make a beautiful screening plant and create a luscious exotic feel to your garden or patio.
