Histon Football Club are a team from a small village in Cambridgeshire, for so long they lived in the shadow of near city rivals Cambridge United. In 2009 they nearly did the unthinkable and reached the conference playoffs. Putting them in touching distance of the Football League. Outcompeting the likes of Oxford United, Mansfield Town and Wrexham. We may never see the likes of it again. • The burden of competing to gain promotion took its toll, as the club tumbled down the divisions and now finds itself at step five of the Non-League system.
