On this Retail Journey I am joined by good friend and fellow explorer Joe Weaver as we explore this slowly dying Mall(Link to his You Tube Channel Below)This video you will see that I shot on 3 different days(One when JCP was closing and after it was already closed) Hope you enjoy my variety of journeys and explores and thank you for watching. Stay Safe Out There, Go Explore, and Peace. Here is a brief history of the Mall: • “The friendliest mall of all” opened in 1967. It was built by Richard Buchholzer and Forest City Enterprises on land once owned by Richard’s father, who owned Hower’s department store in downtown Akron. When Richard was a boy, he discovered an old Indian council circle on his father’s land, prompting him years later to name his mall development “Chapel Hill.” • In 1994, the mall added a food court, a fountain and additional retail space. That addition also included upgrades to the mall’s flooring, ceiling and lighting. • The mall housed a multi-screen theater from 1966 to 1996, when a 10-screen Regal Cinema was built south of the mall. The mall features a variety of stores including JCPenney(Now Closed), Journeys, Bath Body Works, and more. • Chapel Hill Mall also features a beautiful carousel that can be ridden and an inside water fountain that is lit up. • Joe Weaver: / game1001
