I'm gonna talk about it in terms of D Flat. We're gonna use three notes from the D Flat major scale: the root, the 3rd, and the 5th. Our root is gonna be D Flat, and we'll play it on the 4th fret of the A string. We use F, our 3rd, and we're gonna get it at 3rd fret, D string. And then A Flat, our 6th fret up on the D string. And then we can play our D Flat root right above our A Flat, which is the 6th fret on G string. I'm gonna play an abbreviated version of a 2-octave D Flat major triad, by playing the D Flat on the A string, and then starting lower by going down to the F in the A string and then working my way back up. So we have D Flat, 4th fret on the A string; F, 1st fret on the E string; A flat, 4th fret on the E string. Back to D Flat; now F, 3rd fret on the D string; A flat, 6th fret on the D string. And now D Flat again, 6th fret on the G string. And that's the D Flat major triad, or C Sharp major triad, on the electric bass. • #howast #bassguitar
