Demonstration of ability to walk via alternating heating/cooling applied from aft to forward. Heating via heat gun, cooling via low pressure shop air (4x Speed). • Note the bubble level indicating that the sheet is walking slightly uphill. • The sheet self-folds via actuation of shape memory alloy (SMA) localized actuators on the lower surface. Specimen prepared at Texas A M University by visiting student Abhishek Shastry (IIT-Kanpur).
