Schizophrenia is highly stigmatized and misunderstood, resulting in an added burden for people living with this condition. Listen as Carlos, who in his early twenties was diagnosed with adult-onset schizophrenia, and his mother Ana share their story in their own words. • From the onset of symptoms, including the fear and confusion of not understanding what was happening, to successfully managing the condition and becoming mental health advocates.
