This is the second backpack that I’ve led in the last three weeks I am calling this a “backpack express” trip. We meet after work on Friday drive to the location hike in late afternoon/evening (with headlamps) arrive at camp between 10pm and midnight and have the whole next day to enjoy nature. We then hike out, and are back in Santa Barbara 26-28 hours later. • This particular trip felt like we were hiking on the Bonanza Western set, an old movie series on TV. Simple words to describe this particular adventure ? Sunset!
