Thanks for watching ! • The Ventures are: • Don Wilson - Rhythm Guitar - (co-founder in 1958) • Bob Bogle - Lead and Bass Guitar- (co-founder in 1958), passed away in 2009 • Nokie Edwards - Lead and Bass Guitar- (joined in 1960) • Gerry McGee - Lead and Bass Guitar- (joined in 1968) • Mel Taylor - Percussion, passed away in1996 • Bob Spalding - Lead and Bass Guitar- (joined in 1981) • Leon Taylor - Percussion - (joined in 1996, son of Mel Taylor) • The Ventures remain active, recording and touring to the delight of fans around the world. 2008 marked the 50th Anniversary of the founding of the band, truly a remarkable accomplishment. It also saw their induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame. The band celebrates their official 50th Anniversary in 2009, with a special tour in Japan, shows in the US and Canada, and multiple CD releases. • The Ventures are considered by many to be the greatest surf band .
