READ INFO BELOW: • The Biennial RAF Coningsby Families Day 2023. • Overcast conditions for the majority of the day did not impede on any of the displays thankfully especially with the amount of rain throughout July. • Flying Display officially kicked off at around 12:20 with a 𝗗𝗼𝗿𝗻𝗶𝗲𝗿 𝗦𝗸𝘆𝘀𝗲𝗿𝘃𝗮𝗻𝘁 departing carrying the British Army Tigers Parachute Display Team. (𝙐𝙣𝙛𝙤𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙣𝙖𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙮 𝙄 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙚𝙙 𝙩𝙝𝙞𝙨 𝙙𝙚𝙥𝙖𝙧𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚) • A few moments later we see the 𝗕𝗼𝗲𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗣𝟴 𝗣𝗼𝘀𝗲𝗶𝗱𝗼𝗻 from RAF Lossiemouth fly through. Following that we see the fantastic Tigers Parachute Display. At just after 13:00 was the incredible RAF 𝗙𝟯𝟱𝗕 𝗟𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗻𝗶𝗻𝗴 from RAF Marham that arrived in the morning taxi's past the crowd waving and performs a solid Demo. Shortly after the 𝗗𝗲-𝗛𝗮𝘃𝗶𝗹𝗹𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗩𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 in Royal Norwegian markings taxi's past to line up for its display while the RAF 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗸 gets airborne from the 07 end. The 𝗩𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲 then displays. At this point with 3 children in tow quickly becoming bored I decided to go for a walk around the statics. Unfortunately I missed the RAF 𝗖𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗼𝗼𝗸 and part of the 𝗥𝗼𝗹𝗹𝘀 𝗥𝗼𝘆𝗰𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗸 𝗫𝗜𝗫 display. • A 𝗣𝟱𝟭 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗻𝗴 was supposed to display with the 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗸 𝗫𝗜𝗫 but it never moved from its parking spot just off the taxiway. (𝙉𝙤𝙩 𝙨𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙮). After a short break at about 14:30 the 𝗕𝗔𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 Pair taxi's out for their display. Then the 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝘁𝘀 aircraft taxi's out and departs into its display (𝙬𝙝𝙞𝙘𝙝 𝙄 𝙢𝙞𝙨𝙨 𝙙𝙪𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙚𝙡𝙚𝙥𝙝𝙤𝙣𝙚 𝙞𝙨𝙨𝙪𝙚𝙨). Then at 15:05 the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝗔𝗿𝗿𝗼𝘄𝘀 enter for their display with an overhead pass. Most movements from here are the departures of the visiting aircraft which includes the 𝗠𝘂𝘀𝗰𝗹𝗲 𝗣𝗶𝘁𝘁𝘀, the Red Arrows director 𝗥𝗲𝗱 𝟵 𝗼𝗿 𝟭𝟬?, the 𝗕𝗔𝗖 𝗦𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗸𝗲𝗺𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, and the 𝗩𝗮𝗺𝗽𝗶𝗿𝗲. Directly following for the final displays of the day at around 15:45 the Battle Of Britain Memorial Flight taxi past with their 𝗛𝗮𝘄𝗸𝗲𝗿 𝗛𝘂𝗿𝗿𝗶𝗰𝗮𝗻𝗲 𝗠𝗸 𝗜𝗜𝗰, 𝗦𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗺𝗮𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗶𝘁𝗳𝗶𝗿𝗲 𝗠𝗸 𝗟𝗙 𝗜𝗫𝗲 and 𝗔𝘃𝗿𝗼 𝗟𝗮𝗻𝗰𝗮𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗕 𝗠𝗸 𝟭 with the 𝗘𝘂𝗿𝗼𝗳𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗲𝗿 𝗧𝘆𝗽𝗵𝗼𝗼𝗻 𝗙𝗚𝗥𝟰 Display Aircraft ZJ914 𝘽𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠𝙅𝙖𝙘𝙠 close behind. A fantastic day all round and an amazing display to end the day.
