Most of them have family and friends, to whom they don't want to say goodbye to. • At this time, 58 years old Ida Siekmann plans to escape the GDR to still be able to visit her family as normal. But her plan is about to fail as policemen storm her room. In her distress, the woman sees no other way but to jump out of the window. • The incident goes viral, as a satirical song about it goes around the whole country.
