Some 50 tornadoes are recorded each year in France. Being able to observe one of them is extremely difficult, because they are in the majority of cases very brief and often not completely condensed. If we add to this that France is very wooded, unlike the great American plains, filming a tornado in France is quite an achievement. Very few storm chasers had the chance to film a tornado in France during a storm chase. • On June 20, 2024, on this 3rd consecutive day of storm chasing of this solstice week, we had the chance to observe this rare phenomenon sought after by all storm chasers : the tornado ! It's a few kilometers east of Montbard, in Côte d'Or, that a supercell with a particularly well-designed mesocyclone will land a (maybe two?) tornado at 6:30 PM on June 20. • The multi-vortex tornado of Touillon will travel about 10 miles in about 20 minutes.
