🚀 Learn, practice, and master CSS selectors course | https://css-selectors.dev/ • Hey friends, Let's dive into the CSS specificity. The CSS specificity determines how styles are applied when multiple rules target the same element. Understanding specificity helps ensure the correct styles are applied. • Type Selectors (h1, p, etc.): Lowest specificity. • Class Selectors (.class): Higher specificity than type selectors. • ID Selectors (#id): Highest specificity. • Universal Selector (*): Lowest specificity, overridden by ID, class, and type selectors. • Calculating Specificity • Specificity scores are calculated based on the kinds and numbers of selectors: • ID selectors: Highest specificity (1,0,0) • Class selectors: Lower than ID (0,1,0) • Type selectors: Lowest (0,0,1) • Multiple selectors add up (e.g., #a #b .c div results in 2,1,1) • 💡Notes💡 • Multiple-type selectors do not increase specificity more than a single class selector. • IDs must be unique, but classes can be reused. • ✨Useful resources✨ • 📐 CSS Specificity Calculator, by Polypane • 📗 CSS Specificity In-Depth, by Ryan Yu • 📜 Read on MDN: CSS Specificity • 🎟️ You can join the full Master CSS selectors Course here: • https://css-selectors.dev/ • Learn, share, grow together! • Happy coding 😎 • ---------------------------------------------- • 🌱 Frontendly is helping you grow into a skilled frontend engineer. • Join now and let’s grow your skills together https://frontendly.io/ • Follow us for tips: • 🌐 Frontendly | https://frontendly.io/ • ♾️ daily.dev | https://app.daily.dev/squads/cssselector • 🐦 Twitter |   / frontendlyio   • 📸 Instagram |   / frontendly.io   • 🅻 Linkedin |   / frontendly   • 🅵 Facebook |   / frontendly   • • #CSS #CSSselectorsDev #CSSselectors #Frontendly #CSSspecificity
