I've worked with about 15-20 tone deaf adults and got them all to sing decently. • Tone deafness does exist--it's a condition called amusia--but it's much more rare than people think. It's so severe that it makes music sound like pots and pans. • So if you like music, but struggle with singing, there's hope--you're probably not tone deaf. More like tone-challenged. You just need a kind, patient teacher to help you get over the hump. • In this video, I describe the simple process I took my tone deaf students through, and I explain the REAL reasons people struggle to sing on pitch. • If you want to learn more, there's a fun little podcast about amusia featuring a voice coach and a scientist. The good stuff starts around 2m 15s: • https://www.bbc.co.uk/sounds/play/b08...
