I use plastic cutin electrical boxes anytime I need to add an outlet to an existing wall.....or add a light switch, etc.. Electrical cutin boxes come in single gang (that's one standard box), double gang (or 2 gang), 3 gang, I think you can even get one that's 4 gang....you might have to go to an electrical wholesale house for that though, as I don't think most hardware stores have electrical cutin boxes that size.
