Freezing Bananas

http://southernfrugal.com Bananas are one of the easiest fruits you can freeze. Make sure they are perfectly ripe then just load into your freezer. The peeling will get dark but the inside of the banana will remain perfectly good. It takes about 15 minutes on the counter to thaw the peeling for easy removal. Frozen bananas will be mushy when completely thawed. They can be used for smoothies, banana nut bread etc. I've used them in cereal after partially defrosting them, and yes, even a banana sandwich. It's nice to have bananas that never get too ripe like they sometimes do in the fruit bowl.
