Lopez (1995). This case is an illustration of the court ruling in favor of state power (remember: it's under the heading of federalism). Be careful: although the facts of this case have everything to do with guns, this is NOT a second amendment case. Rather, it's a case arguing about Congress's power to pass gun laws on the authority of the commerce clause of the Constitution. • Ultimately, this case is a counter balance to McCulloch v. Maryland which was a case in which the Court ruled in favor of federal power.
