(30 Nov 2016) Thousands of Cubans lined the streets of Havana on Wednesday to bid goodbye to their late leader Fidel Castro, as his ashes began a four-day journey across the country he ruled for nearly 50 years. • A small Cuban-flag covered casket containing the remains of the leader left the capital's Plaza of the Revolution for the journey to their final resting place in the eastern city of Santiago. • The route traces in reverse the victory tour Castro and his bearded rebels took after overthrowing the forces of strongman Fulgencio Batista in 1959. • Many of those who gathered on the streets stressed that, although Fidel Castro has died, his legacy will live on forever. • • • Find out more about AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/HowWeWork • Twitter: / ap_archive • Facebook: / aparchives • Instagram: / apnews • • • You can license this story through AP Archive: http://www.aparchive.com/metadata/you...
