CNBC’s Jim Cramer Interviews Qualcomm CEO Cristiano Amon Full Interview

Qualcomm released our Q1 2022 earnings on Wednesday, February 2nd. The next day, our CEO and President, Cristiano Amon, was interviewed by Jim Cramer, host of CNBC’s Mad Money, to talk about our quarterly earnings (which were fantastic) and our strategy going into the rest of fiscal year 2022 and beyond. • Jim began the segment with a discussion of the larger stock market and how other market news had affected Qualcomm’s stock price in the last day. Then Jim asked Cristiano about Qualcomm’s success in the mobile industry. • Cristiano mentioned the strength of Qualcomm’s position in the smartphone industry, specifically in Android smartphones, but also directed the conversation to the major success the company has had beyond mobile. Cristiano and Jim discussed Qualcomm’s recent success in automotive and about how the Snapdragon Digital Chassis provides solutions to important automotive manufacturers and the growth provided by ADAS systems, including those based on Snapdragon Ride. • While Cristiano sees that more and more automakers are continuing to build in assisted driving programs, he does think that L4 fully autonomous systems will have a longer timeline than, say, the next 3 years. • Additional highlights were the success of Qualcomm’s Internet of Things business and how we hope our solutions will lead to a connected, intelligent edge. The growth of the cloud needs technology support, and Qualcomm is able to provide that support. Qualcomm has a track record of creating ecosystems and this is another example of that successful “win-win” business model. • The interview concluded with Cristiano explaining the ability of the metaverse to help businesses succeed at a wide variety of tasks.
