#shorts • RECIPE details • Nian gao (I made a nian gao recipe video last year, you can DIY or buy ready-made) • Freshly shredded coconut, as much as your heart desires • 1:1 ratio of chickpea flour:water, depending on how much you're cooking + pinch of black salt (optional) • To steam: Coat a steam-proof plate with shredded coconut, then arrange the nian gao slices. Steam for 5-8 minutes until soft. While still hot, coat the nian gao fully in coconut, making sure they don't touch each other (super sticky now!). • To pan-fry: Whisk chickpea egg ingredients together.
