A short sound test of my Awei Y665 Bluetooth Speaker (Bought it for around 10 bucks) • 0:00 Intro • 0:10 Powering On • 0:33 Without Bass Boost on Post • 1:56 With Bass Boost on Post • My personal opinion: This little Bluetooth speaker isn't that bad. It does have a more extended low end and top end, but when the volume is set on max, you could somewhat hear some compression happening especially on bass heavy music, and volume between 80%-max volume almost sounds the same so in most cases you might want to just put it somewhere around 80% to avoid the sound breaking up as well as the slight compression artifacts • Setup: • • Mic: Captured the sound of the speaker via a single Takstar PCM5000 Cardiod Small Diaphragm Condenser Mic and it's powered via a 1x AA Battery (I didn't power it with a 48V phantom power.) I've chosen this mic as it has a somewhat of a flat frequency response with just a boost on the top end between 4k-10k which can somehow give you a accurate representation on how these speakers sound in real life (with the mic not colouring/just colouring the sound a bit) additionally, since this is a condenser type of mic so it's one of the reason why you can hear a fair amount of background noise. Lastly, this is a another reason why the signal is recorded in mono. • • Recorder: Then the mic is connected through my Panasonic RR-US300 digital voice recorder mic in (Mic Sensitivity is set on High, hence why the hiss is audible in the background) • No post processing on the audio of this video (no eq, filter, or compressor is being used) aside from a limiter • Note: The sort of distortion you can hear is due to the input of the recorder clipping. I've added an Without/With Bass Boost on Post as the speaker itself has quite a decent amount of low end when being listened in life as the raw/unedited audio kinda sounds a bit thin on the low end • (I didn't use my phone's microphone as it has a pops and clicks issues) • Ctto of the music I've used for the sound test
