PNR NORTH SOUTH COMMUTER RAILWAY UPDATE 2022 • Through this aerial video from Sumitomo-Mitsui Construction Co. Ltd., we take you on a tour of the current progress of the PNR Clark Phase 1’s stations, such as the Balagtas, Guiguinto, Malolos and Calumpit. • Once fully operational, this 38-km rail segment—which forms part of the mammoth North-South Commuter Railway (NSCR) Project—will cut down travel time to just 35 minutes, from the present one (1) hour and 30 minutes. It is slated to serve 300,000 passengers daily. • The North–South Commuter Railway is being built in three phases and divided into two primary sections. • PNR Clark is the northern section of the NSCR. Construction was divided into two phases. PNR Clark 1 involves the 38-kilometer (24-mile) Tutuban–Malolos railway, while PNR Clark 2 involves the 53-kilometer (33-mile) Malolos–Clark railway. The 91-kilometer (57-mile) railway line, when fully completed, will run from Tutuban station in Manila to New Clark City station within the Clark Freeport and Special Economic Zone, with a link to Clark International Airport. • The civil works of PNR Clark 1 is divided into two packages. Package 1, which covered civil works from Solis to Bocaue, was awarded to the Filipino-Japanese joint venture of Taisei Corporation and DMCI Holdings.
