This 24-mile loop bike ride starts in the Cleveland Metroparks South Chagrin Reservation and travels to the former gate of SeaWorld / Wildwater Kingdom. • This bike ride is mostly on-street, but but it also involves riding on the Cleveland Metroparks all-purpose trail and on bike paths in Solon. I would not recommend the route for beginners because of some road riding on 45 MPH stretches. However, the traffic was light on the weekday when I rode. • When Mark Filippell of Rails-to-Trails Conservancy told me about riding to the remnants of Geauga Lake, I imagined peering through fences and having memories from childhood flood back. In actuality, there is little that you can see past the perimeter fences anymore. This is because of plant overgrowth and the fact that so much has been torn down. However, it was special to see the old SeaWorld entrance that later became the gate to Wildwater Kingdom. I’d like to thank Mark for taking me on this ride. • Please note that the rest of the old park entrances, including the main Geauga Lake entrance, are fenced off. Signs are everywhere indicating that no trespassing is allowed on the private property. • This video is part of the Northeast Ohio Bike Rides series which explores the best bike trails and routes near Cleveland: https://www.cleveland.com/entertainme...
