Sometimes it snows and you can build a snowman or go • sledding! • Snowflakes are ice crystals that have six sides. It takes a lot of snowflakes to make a snowman! • If it snows a lot, there may be a blizzard. A blizzard has strong winds and a lot of snow! • During winter, many animals hibernate. This means they sleep for a long time! • When a black bear hibernates, it can go 100 days without eating or drinking! That’s a long time! • In the winter season, most of the plants and trees lose their leaves. The branches look bare! • Evergreen trees are an exception. They stay green all year long! • If you look around, you will find a lot of evidence that it’s winter time! • ———————————————— • Check out my other non fiction books for kids: • Books About Winter / Books About Snow: • It's Winter Time Read Aloud -    • It's Winter Time | Winter Read Aloud ...   • All About Penguins Read Aloud -    • All About Penguins Read Aloud   • All About Polar Bears Read Aloud -    • All About Polar Bears Read Aloud   • All About Winter Read Aloud -    • All About Winter Read Aloud | Winter ...   • ———————————————— • Why is read aloud important? • The U.S. Department of Education Commission on Reading took into account over 10,000 studies and found that the most important activity for building the skills and background for eventual success in reading is reading aloud to children. • At Mr. Corder’s Kid Books Read Aloud, I try and find the most exciting and interesting books for kids.
