I decided to dive deep into the background of the Stockholm Syndrome, and explore where it all started. It all started with a bank robbery in Stockholm, that turned into a hostage situation that lasted six days... • On August 23, 1973, a man called Janne Olsson walked into Kreditbanken on the address Norrmalmstorg 2. There was a shootout with the police, he took several people hostage, and after six chaotic days the hostages were freed and Janne and Clark, his accomplice, was captured. That was also when the Norrmalmstorg Syndrome was named - which was rebranded as the Stockholm Syndrome. • But everything isn't completely clear about the incident. Is the common view of how the Stockholm Syndrome works really true? How many other cases are there?
