A male of Great Spotted Woodpecker (Dendrocopos major, family Picidae) hopping around a windthrow tree of Japanese red-cedar (Cryptomeria japonica, family Cupressaceae) in the windbreaker forest in search of food. And then he flew off. Captured with my old trailcam at cloudy noon (around 12:00 PM) of early-January 2024 in Japan.
