Short video looking at the advantages of locking jack stands. I decided to get some replacements for my old ratchet-only type jack/axle stands, which I was never quite happy with in terms of reliability and safety. • This locking design is the same convenient ratchet type, which allows you to easily position the height of the stand under the car, but has an additional pin as a back-up safety feature, so even catastrophic failure of either the ratchet pawl or the engaged tooth will not allow the car to fall. • Pictured are Torin brand stands, but these seem to just be relabeled Chinese distribution.
