Diana - Princess of Wales - John Travolta White House Dance 1985 - Check out more videos / jcoulterj • On Saturday, November 9, 1985, the world received an iconic dance. • Princess Diana stunned the world along with John Travolta while dancing in Cross Hall at the White House dinner hosted by then-President Reagan and First Lady Nancy Reagan. • With the soundtrack of Saturday Night Fever playing in the background for almost 15 minutes, this moment has gone down in pop culture history. • The event was on an intimate scale with only 80 guests including Tom Sellek, Neil Diamond, even Clint Eastwood. • But the stars of the show were the beautiful Princess Diana and the talented John Travolta. • As well as the fashion icons blue velvet dress designed by Victor Edelstein that was named the Travolta dress after it was worn for the first time at the gala. • It will now be on display in the Stone Hall at Kensington Palace, Princess Diana's former home, as it reopens to visitors for the summer. • In addition to the White House dinner, the dress was worn by the Princess for official visits to Austria in 1986, Germany in 1987, the London premiere of the film Wall Street in 1988, and to sit for an official portrait by the artist Israel Zohar.
