Sharing opinions on the footpaths, drinking milk, election prepoll shenanigans. Guest, Paul Hoolihan, past State Member for Keppel. • With the unprecedented growth in our area, Livingstone/Keppel Electorate will require significant resources to get the town into a position to sustain the projected growth of an additional 23,000 people by 2031. • Sitting on the panel we have Hawkeye Murray. Chi Chi is a long-time resident and dearly loved community member. Has raised squllions of dollars through community events, most people have heard about her wonderful Giggle and Gossip events, along with her valuable work with stroke patients, along with a great many other contributions. Chi has been involved in local politics for decades and scrutinised for many elections. Hawkeye Murray's name came from her keen counting prowess that changed the course of Yeppoon's history seeing the winning candidate get across the line by 11 votes. Barbara Wilden. • Michael Page advocates for access and equity issues in our electorate. Michael's contribution and passion for advocating for 25% of our community for the much-needed infrastructure and support required is inspiring. Michael has provided support for local political candidates in the last couple of elections and is very switched on with community politics and the needs of our electorate. • Independent Candidate for Keppel Petrina Murphy. Local for 30 years. Worked as a journo for the local Capricorn Coast Mirror, her journalistic style was community-focused and advocated for the needs of locals. Petrina watched the community go backwards as a tourist town after resorts closed one by one. Concerned about the current rapid growth and the complete lack of strategy to build the community we want to nurture moving forward, Petrina is running as a candidate in the 2024 State Election. • Shout out to Chill Hill, the best emerging band on the coast. Find them on their socials. They’ve provided their equipment today so we can do the podcast. And produced by one of their band members Cal Mungbeaner. • ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Time stamps • 00:00 Paul Hoolihan joins us for chats • 00:10 Planning forum lost documents from LSC • 01:50 Footpaths, bikes and fighting for disability access around town • • --------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- • Links • Accessibility Capricornia • Website temp hosting - http://accesscapricornia.petalsprmedi... • Facebook page - / capaeg • Previous shire consultation plannign doc. • https://livingstonelocal.com.au/proje...
