In August 2023, she opportunities to study in Italy, and her vision quickly sharpened: she would pursue a Bachelor’s in Political Science and International Relations at Italy’s renowned University of Messina. Being in her 12th grade, balancing the rigorous Indian School Certificate (ISC) board exams with the process of applying to an international university was no small feat. Yet, Shreya’s determination and early preparation, combined with the dedicated support of experts, gave her the edge she needed. • Throughout her journey, Shreya worked tirelessly to stay on top of her studies while gathering her application documents. She aced the IELTS, arranged recommendation letters, and completed the necessary paperwork early, ensuring she met all the requirements. Shreya’s efforts paid off in an unexpected way: on the day of her board exam, she received her official acceptance letter from the University of Messina. It was a moment of double celebration and one she will never forget. However, the path wasn’t entirely smooth from there. Shreya had to submit her final board results in May to confirm her admission. Although the wait was stressful, Eurodreams’ counsellors were there, ensuring her place was secure once her marksheet was ready. • Meanwhile, Shreya focused on preparing for the visa process. Sponsored by her father, she gathered around ₹12 lacs in her account as part of her documentation. Shreya ensured her financial paperwork was flawless. Yet, there was one challenge she didn’t anticipate: delays in the government authorization process for her DOV (Declaration of Value) documents. The longer-than-expected verification period meant her initial visa appointment had to be rescheduled. Through it all, Shreya stayed resilient, recognizing that early preparation was key in managing these unexpected hurdles. Finally, her rescheduled visa interview arrived, and Shreya felt ready. She navigated the interview confidently, answering technical questions and adding a personal touch by sharing details about her family and background. • With every document in place and ample preparation behind her, her visa was approved smoothly, opening the door to her dreams of studying in Italy. Today, Shreya is living in Messina, where she’s embracing the opportunities and experiences of her new journey. Reflecting on her journey, she shares one piece of advice for other aspiring students: “Apply early and stay organized to avoid last-minute hassles.” • Shreya’s story is a testament to the power of preparation, and perseverance.
