Thanks to Heiea for sending me a Canadian copy of Fates to play, and thanks to Mangs for letting me borrow his 3DS, capture card and compatible Fates cart! • Fire Emblem Fates was released all the way back in 2016. Back then, fan expectations were sky high after the success of Awakening and the trailers. However, to a lot of fans, especially older ones, it ended up being a letdown. That doesn't mean that nobody liked the game, but that it was pretty controversial. • I get to play this game with more reasonable expectations. I know the story is bad. I know the gameplay is good.
