'KURIYELAYISON' is derived from the Greek phrase 'Kyrie Eleison'. It means 'Lord Have Mercy'. The origins of this Greek text can be traced back to the earliest Christian Worship Services. The strength of the phrase has stood the test of time because of its relevance in the Christian World which is further reinforced with its simplicity. The phrase is so prayerfully replete with faith, and seeking God's forgiveness, and taking refuge in His Compassion that it has found its way across the various Christian worship services including Latin and many other languages other than Syriac or Aramaic. It is often used as chants in Mass or Communion Services and as songs with Choral settings. • Friends' Collective brings to you a choral setting of this phrase - a common worship service response present in different Syrian Christian Services of Kerala. It is specifically arranged for a three-part women's voice setting.
