Following a comprehensive audition process and a three-week training residency with leading professional orchestra musicians, these remarkable teenagers embark on a tour to some of the great music capitals of the world to serve as dynamic music ambassadors. In 2017, the orchestra traveled to Latin America with conductor Marin Alsop and performed a program that included a new Carnegie Hall–commissioned work by Gabriela Lena Frank and Mahler’s Symphony No. 1. In 2018, NYO-USA will return to Asia for a tour with conductor Michael Tilson Thomas and pianist Jean-Yves Thibaudet.
