This is my Electrolux Silverado Deluxe Canister Model 1505 vacuum (from the early 80s) that I bought locally from a seller on Craigslist for surprisingly cheap. I've always wanted a Vintage Electrolux canister to add to the collection since I like their style after using the one my aunt used to have, and since I already have my Epic 6500 SR (   • Electrolux Epic 6500 SR Canister Vacuum  ) and I wanted to see how this compared to that one. I wanted this model specifically cause it has the large rocker power switch on the front just like my aunt's did, and also has the PN5 power brush since this was the first Electrolux model that debuted that famous L-shaped power brush that was used for years (and although I have never used one with the PN4, I believe those are OK as well). This came with ALL of its attachments when I got it, including the Sidekick tool (which I don't know for sure if this came with one from the factory or if the previous owner added that tool since it was compatible with the hose). And speaking of the hose, this does have a generic replacement vinyl hose, probably since the old original woven braided hose was damaged and leaked suction (which they tend to do pretty quickly as they age which definitely caused a lot of these perfectly running vacuums to end up back at the dealer since they kept breaking hoses), and now that it has the upgraded hose, the suction is much stronger and it also comes with an auxiliary on/off switch to power the brush roll so this now has the modern capability to be used on bare floors if desired. The original PN5 that came with this did have a damaged base, so I wound up buying a used one off eBay that had no brush roll, but a good condition base, so now with a new replacement brush roll, here's how it sits today. It features a 8 amp suction motor with clean air design along with a 1.8 amp brush roll motor giving it a total of 10 amps, and takes Style C bags. The suction is great, the airflow is fantastic, and the agitation is great as well, and it sure grooms the carpet pretty well. My only complaint for this is the oddball rear axle on the power nozzle that has articulating wheels that pivot upwards when you apply forward force on the nozzle (my Epic 6500 does this as well, that was probably a thing with the older Electrolux canisters) which I guess is supposed to alleviate the issues with pushing forward on high pile carpets (like mine, but I've never had that issue), but the front of the nozzle does raise up off the floor when that happens, so the nozzle likely won't pick up as much, but when you pull back, it still does great since the nozzle comes back down. Overall, this is an awesome vacuum to own, and I'm certainly happy to have this in my collection.
