Trains at Wembley Stadium 3rd October 2024

It’s Thursday, the 3rd of October, and I’m at Wembley Stadium. Located on the Chiltern mainline, the station features two platforms and is served and managed by Chiltern Railways. For some context, the current station is the second Wembley Central, with the original station opening in 1923 and being located on a balloon loop. This station would open as Wembley Exhibition and would be renamed to Wembley Stadium in 1928. The station would ultimately close in 1968. After closure of the station, the track would be ripped up, and in the intervening 56 years, the area has been redeveloped. The current station was opened originally in 1906 by the Great Central Railway. Originally known as Wembley Hill, it was then subsequently renamed to Wembley Complex in 1978, and then finally the station would take its current name in 1987.
