in 1992 Tim Burton returned to bring Batman back to the big screen. Relieving Anton Furst was Production Designer Bo Welch, who was more familiar with Burtons former works having collaborated previously. However, with Tim Burton at the top of his game and the formula for success layed out for them, Batman Returns was met with much contraversy due to Burton's overindulgence with the very gothic themes that supplement his other movies.
