Start learning cybersecurity with CBT Nuggets. https://courses.cbt.gg/security • In this video, Jeremy Cioara covers WPA2-Enterprise, how it differs from WPA-Personal, and why you should deploy it on your network. Since using a pre-shared key on each device is implausible on huge networks, secure networks with WPA-2 Enterprise, which enables any authentication method you prefer. • WPA-2 Enterprise and WPA-2 Personal differ in one key way: where authentication happens. The common WPA-2 Personal method relies on a pre-shared key — or passcode — to authorize access to a network. But it's far from realistic or secure to share a single passcode among hundreds or thousands of users — which is why WPA-2 Enterprise moves away from the PSK schema. A RADIUS server powers WPA-2 Enterprise setups and can accept a number of different authentication methods: certificate, username/password combo, even a thumbprint. • Since your WAPs are just passing the information to the RADIUS server, they don't care what they're asking for, the RADIUS server does the verification. Which also means that changing accesses and policies happens in one place — which is a lot better than distributing a new passcode to all users every time someone leaves the organization. • 🔒 Download the Free Ultimate Security Cert Guide: https://blog.cbt.gg/nbzy • ⬇️ 15-Week Study Plan: CCNP Security Core (350-701 SCOR): https://blog.cbt.gg/vtwa • • Start learning with CBT Nuggets: • • Intro to Networking | https://courses.cbt.gg/tuv • • Cisco CCNP Security | https://courses.cbt.gg/6t4 • • Cisco CCNA Security (210-260 IINS) | https://courses.cbt.gg/r6n
