Almost immediately upon leaving Slitherbough in the pursuit of finding the lightwarden of the Rak'tika Greatwood, we find ourselves greeted by a flurry of arrows. Fortunately enough, with the power of plot armor, none of the arrows hit their mark. Y’shtola tries to get a word in during this onslaught, but the aggressors do not hesitate and continuously launch their attack. She ultimately decides to cut to the chase and pull out the Seal of Ronka whilst declaring to be allies of the Empire of Ronka. With this act, the ambushers finally open up to conversation, and their attitude towards us shifts from aggressive to ecstatic, which was quite a sudden and drastic shift in tone. • After directing us to their home village of “Fanow”, we discover that they are of a rabbit-eared, matriarchal warrior race who call themselves “Vii”s, and that the leading sisters of the village are named “Almet”, “Uimet”, and “Cymet”. They also happen to have a lifespan that could last centuries. We discuss with them the purpose of our visit into their territory, and the Viis are actually quite accommodating in assisting our cause. So accommodating, in fact, that they outright give us the position of the Lightwarden themselves! Though, the best path towards it is locked behind the gates of the Qitana Ravel. They inform us that we must first traverse to the K'mul Astropolis in order to restore the flow of magic to the Ravel, which we promptly do immediately upon receiving this information. • The Astropolis seems to be a puzzle paradise as just about everything created there seems to have been made for the purpose of throwing trial after trial to anyone who enters. Though this wouldn't be too much of an issue by itself, it does end up becoming very stressful to deal with once we are warned that the Eulmoran forces are fast approaching, with Ran’jit and his Adjutant sprinting far past both Slitherbough’s and the Vii’s defenses to directly intercept us from achieving our goal. After rushing through the plethora of traps and trials the Astropolis had in store, we finally reach the hallway leading to our destination. But as soon as we get there, Ran’jit and his adjutant burst through a door on the opposite end of the hall with Uimet and Cymet close on their tail. We engage in a skirmish before the Vii sisters decide upon a restraining tactic to buy Us and Y’shtola enough time to restore the aetherial flow to the Qitana Ravel. • The plan succeeds! However, immediate after accomplishing the task, Ran’jit overpowers the Vii sisters and rushes towards us to engage in combat once more. Though we would happily oblige in another scuffle, the Eulmoran Adjutant clumsily steps on a trap that triggered the floor to collapse into a seemingly bottomless abyss. We all manage to avoid falling by gathering on a small ledge at the side of the room, in which the Adjutant decides to try to negotiate with Y’shtola for a temporary truce. He quickly brings up the fact that a majority of Slitherbough is poisoned by the toxins of the Children of the Everlasting dark, and that he holds on his person the antidote to cleanse the poison. Though it would seem he was making progress towards the goal of a truce, Ran’jit was... disinclined to negotiate in any regard. So, as any typical villain would, he kicks his own Adjutant into the pit along with the antidote. However, before he falls too far out of reach, Y’shtola quickly leaps after the antidote and throws it our way before she too falls into the endless pit. • Moments later, Thancred, Minfilia, and Urianger come to our rescue, with Urianger using an offense “Rescue” ability to pull Ran’jit over the pit to have Thancred DUNK on him into it as well. • We return to Fanow to recover and mourn the loss of Y’shtola. But in the midst of doing so, the Vii sisters bring to us a familiar face: Emet-Selch. He inquires upon us to tell him what has transpired during his absence. After recounting the recent events, he callously offers his condolences, which Thancred didn’t take too kindly to. During this, we recall a detail of a gust of air forming when Y’shtola fell, which our group eventually deduced to be a transportation spell Y’shtola had used in the past. In the hopes of finally gaining our trust, Emet-Selch offers to pull her out of the lifestream and return her to the land of the living. • After doing so, a rather heartwarming reunion and brief celebration occurs, which is cut short by Y’shtola’s forward-minded drive to proceed to our next step: the Qitana Ravel. We are warned that it holds dangerous obstacles inside, but with the goal of slaying the Lightwarden, we make our way towards it regardless. • Timestamps: • Introduction - 0:00 • Playthrough - 1:57 • The Qitana Ravel - 8:48 • First Boss - 14:32 • Mobs - 18:55 • Second Boss - 23:57 • Mobs - 29:26 • Third Boss - 34:53 • Post-Duty - 42:01 • Outro - 1:18:23 • Twitter - / lucronpneumerik • Patreon - / lucron
