2008 - 2014 Smart Car ForTwo Valve Cover Gasket and Spark Plug Seal Replacement. Procedure may be similar for other years too. • Materials and tools: • Valve cover gasket - Beck Arnley 036-2043 or equivalent https://amzn.to/2Is4pJ2 • Spark plug seals - NOK 198128 or Smart 1320150080 https://amzn.to/3WLPaBz • RTV sealant https://amzn.to/35ct0eQ • Flathead screwdriver https://amzn.to/2oRQOUG • 3/8 ratchet https://amzn.to/2pRduov • 10mm socket with extensions https://amzn.to/2MfuHQ4 https://amzn.to/33bnLdh • 10mm wrench https://amzn.to/333Wb1N • Torx E10, E12, E14 https://amzn.to/2Isd3qX • T25 torx bit https://amzn.to/2MnIrZ8 • Blade https://amzn.to/30O9p0Y • Compressed air https://amzn.to/2AKNcGv • Chapters: • 0:09 Tools and materials • 0:43 Remove air box baffle • 1:20 Remove (3) ignition coils • 2:04 Remove (3) injector clips and (1) other clip • 2:19 Remove assembly and red/green O2 sensor clip • 2:44 Remove harness • 3:30 Loosen (2) E-Torx 14mm control arm subframe bolts and remove (3) E-Torx 12mm from bottom of combination air tube flange • 5:00 Remove (3) E-Torx 10mm bolts from other end of combo air tube flange, dip stick, and entire combo air tube flange. • 5:33 Remove (10) 10mm valve cover bolts. All shown on cover at 7:12 • 6:28 Remove valve cover, clean cover and engine mating surface • 6:45 Remove and replace (3) spark plug seals • 7:22 Install new valve cover gasket. Remove old gasket, and apply RTV sealant • 8:18 Wait 5-10 min for RTV to cure (check product directions), and reinstall cover approx 10-15ft lbs in a crisscross pattern. • 9:24 Reinstall everything in reverse • 10:49 Test vehicle • Check out the other videos in this series • 1.
