How to SAFELY Degrease Your Engine Bay

In the second part of Project Restoration, I use Meguiars Super Degreaser along with some paint brushes to detail the engine bay of the Golf. I remove all of the grease under the engine bay and show you exactly how I do it. • Meguiars Super Degreaser ▶︎ http://amzn.to/2cZhXwH • DISCLAIMER: If you want to do this to your car and you have a Cold Air Intake or a Short Ram Intake, cover the intake in a plastic grocery bag to protect the internals of the engine. Also, it might be a bit easier if you are working on a warm engine, so let the engine run and get hot, and then let it sit for 15 minutes before you work on it. This will help the grease loosen up and make your life a bit easier. Whatever you do, do not start cleaning your engine while it is still running. If your car’s intake sucks in a bit of water, you WILL 100% kill your engine. • I know there are going to people that will comment and say that the engine bay isn't supposed to get wet , you're an idiot , you're going to kill your engine . Well think of this, what do you think happens to the engine bay when it rains? Do you think it stays dry? Because the bottom side of the engine where the oil pan is, isn't sealed, the engine bay will get wet all of the time.
