They have 4 beautiful children, two of which were diagnosed with a rare and fatal genetic disorder called Metachromatic Leukodystrophy or as it's more commonly known, MLD. MLD is a genetic disorder that affects nerves, muscles, other organs, and behavior. It slowly gets worse over time. Eli and Ella are in a fight for their life. • The Vivian's decided to go the gene therapy route as far as treatment was concerned for Eli and Ella. The only place they could go for this clinical trial was Milan, Italy. The community rallied around them to help raise funds so they could afford the multiple trips they would need to take to Milan to seek treatment. The results of this community involvement far exceeded their expectations.
