One of the biggest problems with M.2/NVMe SSDs is that these devices generate more heat than standard hard drives, or 2.5 SSDs. The temperature of your M.2/NVMe SSD is also dependent ambient temperature of the inside of your case. My computer has a very good cooling system with two 120mm intake fans, one 120mm rear exhaust fan, and two 120mm top exhaust fans. Never the less, M.2/NVMe SSDs still run hot, like your CPU and RAM modules. My ram modules have heatsinks on them, and my CPU has a heatsink fan on it. This idea of adding heatsink on a M.2/NVMe module wasn't really a standard feature, like a heatsink fan for a CPU. • As for me, I want my hardware to last a long time, so I always invest money into cooling solutions, like adding extra fans, adding a good heatsink fan, adding other cooling solutions like PCI exhaust fans, etc.The Ineo M.2/NVMe heatsink fan assembly has a heat pipe in the middle which is in contact with the M.2/NVMe SSD micro chips with the thermal pads. Having a fan in the heatsink will keep the M.2/NVMe SSD cool if you plan to use it for many hours. The temperature tends to go up • 5 °C when you leave the computer on a few hours. When you read and write on the SSD continuously, it will get pretty hot. Just like when your graphics card is running 3d intensive applications, the GPU will get hot, but your GPU's cooling system prevents it from getting too hot which will cause damage to your GPU. The cooling system dissipates the heat which will prevent performance degradation, because when the SSD gets too hot. The micro controller in the storage device will decrease the read or write speed to prevent overheating. In other words, the device will not throttling. Your CPU will do this when it gets too hot, it too will throttle down the clock frequency to keep it from overheating. • Your case should also have good airflow to keep all the other electronic components cool in your computer, like the chipset, CPU/Processor, hard drives, M.2/NVMe SSD, graphics card, and RAM. This too will also aid in your components from running cooler as well. • βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ • [Links] • ♦ ineo Aluminum M.2 2280 SSD Heatsinks with 20mm fan • • https://amzn.to/2PjxvAS • ♦ Western Digital 500GB WD Blue SN550 NVMe Internal SSD • • https://amzn.to/31erZlx • β More Computer Modification Videos • • https://he-1000-1975.com/video-direct... • βββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββββ
