As one of Guyana’s most commonly misunderstood creatures, the Bothrops atrox, or locally known as the Labaria, is found in tropical environments where they can camouflage and protect themselves from any foreign intruders. These snakes have the highest bite rate in our country, and can pose a serious threat when disturbed by invasive human activity such as mining and logging.
