I built a 32' x 48' Pole Barn! You can do it too! I show you how I (a complete DIYer) methodically constructed what is my dream shop or dream garage ... whatever you want to call it. In this lengthy video, I provide you with a very good idea in terms of the tools and materials you will need, as well as the level of effort required to build your own pole barn. Somewhat uniquely, I purchased logs and turned them into the lumber I needed to build my pole barn using a sawmill. My sawmill of choice: a Woodland Mills 122 Sawmill. Let me know what you think of my process (kind and constructive comments) and how you may be planning to build your dream shop or garage. • This is technically a Post Frame building. In a post frame, the posts sit on piers or some sort of foundation. In a pole barn, the posts are in the ground. • @00:00 Introduction • @02:33 Clearing Land • @03:27 Sawing Logs to Lumber • @04:12 Preparing the Pad • @05:28 Making the Piers • @07:08 Raising and Compacting the Pad • @08:45 Making the Forms and Pouring Concrete • @13:29 Installing the Saddles • @14:22 Posts and Walls • @19:03 the Back Wall • @20:15 Trusses • @23:08 Front Wall • @25:09 Purlins • @27:22 Metal Roof • @29:26 Framing the Overhead Door • @31:12 Framing Windows • @33:50 Building Wrap and Metal Siding • @41:47 Installing Overhead and Man Doors • @43:33 More Metal Siding • @45:11 Installing a Window • @49:39 Soffits and Fascia • @50:21 Gable Ends
