How to Make Beeswax Candles for Beginners (with Thrifted Containers!) • I tell you what, I hope you enjoy the entertainment value of watching someone make something for the very first time because this was a learning experience! • Candles used to be a huge thing in my house. I absolutely loved going to Bath and Body and buying my Frosted Cranberry candles every year in bulk. But then came the research into toxins after having babies and becoming super sensitive to any of those fake fragrances. • A few takeaways from today's candle-making experience: • 1. You can and should add coconut oil to your beeswax with a ratio of 1:1 to allow the candle to cure beautifully without tunneling . • 2. Diluting beeswax with coconut oil also makes the candles more affordable! • 3. When using thrifted containers figure out how much they can hold with WATER before measuring your beeswax/coconut oil. This way you know exactly how much beeswax and coconut oil to melt for all of your containers.
