According to legend, the Jersey Devil was born in 1735 to Mother Leeds as the 13th child of a poor family. Upon birth, it rapidly transformed into a terrifying creature with hooves, a goat’s head, bat wings, and a forked tail, and it flew up the chimney and into the woods. Over the centuries, there have been countless sightings of this beast. It’s said to let out a blood-curdling scream and terrorize livestock.
